House of Worship prolongs singer-songwriter Twila Paris’ reign as “one of the only 20th century writers to appear alongside classic hymn writers.” This wonderfully-crafted worship project, which includes melodies that seem effortless, marks the 21st album by this prolific songstress.

Paris was writing worship before worship became fashionable about two years ago, and countless artists began jumping on the genre bandwagon. Even if you’re not a worship enthusiast, there is a strong possibility you have sung one of Paris’ worship songs such as “He Is Exalted” or “Lamb of God.” And most likely on some future Sunday morning, you will sing for the first time, a song from this album, maybe “God of All,” or “Glory and Honor.”

Once again, Paris teamed up with friend and producer Brown Bannister to create an album of worship classics. A collection of 10 new songs and the two reworked favorites, “We Bow Down” and “We Will Glorify,” House Of Worship highlights Paris and Bannister’s gift of transforming the common chord into extraordinary verses.

True to her musical style, Paris’ compositions are filled with spirited acoustic guitars, fluid piano melodies and from time to time, the songs are sprinkled with ethereal background vocals. If you’re a Paris fan, you will not be disappointed.
